2 lanes on Elliptical Road in QC to be closed Friday night for drainage project

Two lanes of the Elliptical Road corner Quezon Avenue in Quezon City will be closed starting 10 p.m. Friday night to give way to the Deparment of Public Works and Highways' drainage and electric line improvements.

A report from GMA's “Balitanghali” on Friday said the project will last for 21 days and is scheduled to be completed by November 6 if everything goes well.

Authorities said that motorists who regularly use Elliptical Road will now have to plan their trips as the project is expected to cause heavy traffic along the already busy road.

Authorities said motorists can take as an alternate route North Avenue then Agham Road to get to Quezon Avenue.

Over a hundred traffic enforcers will also be deployed to Elliptical Road to help alleviate traffic, the report said.

Personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will also man the traffic there.

The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group which is in charge of manning six chokepoints along EDSA said they will support the traffic efforts of their counterparts. —Andrei Medina/KG, GMA News
