Part of Elliptical Road near Quezon Avenue may be closed for 21 days
A part of the Elliptical Road around the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City will be closed for at least three weeks for the continuation of a drainage system project that started September last year.
Noemi Recio, head of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's Traffic Engineering Center, told radio dzBB in an interview that portion of the Elliptical Road may be closed for 21 days.
Recio could not say when the construction will start, but said that the city government's engineering office has already secured a permit for the construction.
The drainage system project, which started in September 2015, involves the installation of a 300-meter pipeline from Kalayaan Avenue to a creek on Quezon Avenue.
Recio said that the drainage pipeline was being blocked by PLDT lines.
Recio said the city's engineers would have to realign the drainage pipeline to avoid the PLDT lines.
She said the PLDT is also willing to relocate its lines to give way to the city government's pipeline project.
