TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE AIRPORT

Flood delays four flights at NAIA Terminal 4

While thousands of motorists were stuck in unusually heavy traffic on Tuesday night due to floods on EDSA, four flights were affected at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport because of flood that reached the ramp of the NAIA Terminal 4, GMA News "24 Oras" has reported.

It took until after midnight on Wednesday for two Air Asia flights to land at the NAIA while two of its planes were also kept from leaving on schedule.

The heavy rain caused water from the nearby Parañaque River to reach the terminal's ramp, the report said.

The construction of the NAIA Expressway 2 near the airport could have also been a factor because two of its posts were reportedly built on a canal.

The Department of Public Works and Highways, however, pointed to water from the Maricaban Creek as the culprit. —NB, GMA News
