MMDA to file raps vs. ‘cursing’ motorist in viral video

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is considering the filing of direct assault charges against the motorist who was caught on video berating traffic enforcers recently in Quezon City.

"Na-plakahan kaya mate-trace sa LTO (Land Transportation Office) iyan at made-determine natin kung sino iyong driver na iyon na nang-bully. Pwedeng kasuhan ng direct assault," MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said in a "24 Oras" report.

The traffic altercation was caught on video around 7 a.m. on Thursday last week under the Tandang Sora flyover in Quezon City, the report said. 



Traffic constable Rene Villafuerte said the driver cursed and pushed him.

“Sabi ko, sir, may violation po kayo. Sabi ko pwede ba makita lisensya niyo? Noong sinabi ko iyon, lalo siyang nagalit, pinagmumura niya ako ng masasakit na salita. Sabi niya, ipatatanggal niya ako sa trabaho,” Villafuerte said.
