Traffic rerouted as month-long repairs on Ayala Bridge begin


The Metro Manila Development Authority has rerouted traffic near the Ayala Bridge in Manila as round the clock repairs on the bridge began early Saturday, a report from GMA's “Balitanghali” said Saturday.



The MMDA said the following alternate routes for affected northbound and southbound destinations can be followed by motorists:

Northbound:

From Romualdez Street, take a left turn at Ayala Boulevard. then a right turn at Taft Avenue and pass by the Jones or Quezon Bridge.

From Roxas Boulevard or Taft you can take the Quezon or Jones Bridge and pass through Quezon Boulevard.

Southbound:

From Magsaysay, Legarda or Lacson you can pass by the Nagtahan or Mabini Bridge then take a right turn at Otis then go straight to UN Avenue.

Repairs on the Ayala Bridge began around 2 a.m. on Saturday and will last for a month.

The Ayala Bridge was closed off after the Department of Public Works and Highways determined it needed major repairs. The bridge will be reopened on Apr. 20. — Andrei Medina/JDS, GMA News
