New LRT, MRT fare matrices posted on eve of fare hike
On the eve of a fare hike for the Light and Metro Rail Transit systems, the Department of Transportation and Communications posted the new fare matrices on stations.

Copies of the new matrices were posted at strategic areas of the stations so passengers could immediately see them.
The DOTC also posted the new fare matrices for the LRT Lines 1 and 2 and for the MRT online.
The new base fare will be P11 from the current P10 with P1 per additional kilometer.
Abaya said the increased rates will bring improved services on the MRT and LRT lines.
LRT Line 1 links Roosevelt Avenue in Quezon City to Baclaran, while Line 2 links CM Recto to Santolan. MRT links North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City via EDSA. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
