At least 150 kilos ‘tainted’ frozen meat seized in QC
Some 150 kilos of frozen meat products worth P20,000 were seized in a market in Quezon City following a government inspection before dawn Tuesday.
The National Meat Inspection Service seized the meat from Commonwealth Market after finding it did not meet its safety standards, radio dzBB's James Agustin reported.
A photo by dzBB's Agustin showed NMIS teams inspecting meat at the Commonwealth Market.

A separate report on GMA News TV's News TV Live said the meat was not placed in a freezer and could be in danger of contamination.
The vendors said they did not have space for a freezer.
NMIS teams placed the seized meat, including frozen pork mixed with fresh meat, in up to five plastic garbage bags, the dzBB report said.
While some of the owners claimed the meat had just come out of the freezer, the NMIS said the meat should be kept at a constant temperature.
The NMIS and Quezon City veterinary office conducted the inspection at 3 a.m., seizing the meat from five to six stalls.
One of the vendors whose meat was seized wept at losing P12,000, the report said.
The NMIS is expected to conduct more inspections in the coming weeks as the holidays draw closer. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
