Dalia Pastor led husband Enzo to his death –aide

Dalia Pastor was the one who asked her husband, racing champion Enzo Pastor, to take the route where he was shot dead on the night of June 12 while on his way to Angeles, Pampanga, Enzo's assistant said in a supplemental affidavit.

Paolo Salazar, who was accompanying Enzo in transporting a race car from Makati to Pampanga for a competition, was wounded in the attack that occurred along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City — the road Dalia allegedly asked them to take.

"Habang kami ay nasa biyahe, madalas tumatawag si Mam Dahlia [sic] sa telepono ni Sir Enzo at inaalam kung nasaan na kami at nagbibigay sya ng direksyon kung saan kami dapat dumaan," said Salazar in his supplemental affidavit that was attached as an annex on a separate reply affidavit filed by Enzo's father Tomas.

"Nagtaka ako dahil hindi siya dating ganoon at kabisado naman ni Sir Enzo ang daan papuntang Clark," he added.

Paolo Salazar filed the supplemental affidavit Wednesday to contest the recantation of alleged gunman PO2 Edgar Angel.

He said he was with Enzo when they took the race car (plate WSC 331) from the Batangas Racing Circuit at about 5:30 p.m. of June 12 to Enzo's home in Magallanes, Makati.

He said at the Pastors' residence, Enzo talked with Dalia and his parents Tomas and Remy about the route he should take from Makati to bring the race car to the Clark International Speedway.

Enzo's parents suggested that he take the Manila side via Nagtahan Bridge. Dalia, however, allegedly insisted that he take C-5 Road, which Enzo heeded.

At around 9:45 p.m., Enzo and Salazar left for Pampanga and took the C-5 Road, passing by Libis, Katipunan Avenue and Congressional Road.

At the junction of Congressional Avenue and Visayas Avenue, their truck, which was carrying the race car, stopped at a red light. It was then that a man emerged from Enzo's side and shot him.

"Nakita ko ang bumaril at tinignan ko po sya sa mata," said Salazar, who was wounded in the shooting.

Salazar later positively identified Angel when he was invited by the Quezon City Police District at Camp Karingal, where Angel was detained over a separate case.

"Sigurado ako na si PO2 Edgar Angel ang bumaril sa akin at siyang pumatay kay Sir Enzo dahil katabi mismo ako ni Sir Enzo nung siya ay pagbabarilin at tinitigan ko pa sa mata si PO2 Edgar Angel habang binabaril niya si Sir Enzo," said Salazar.

Salazar said he later learned that Angel had executed two sworn statements admitting that Dalia and her alleged lover, Domingo de Guzman III, had hired him to kill Enzo for P100,000.

Dalia's father Xavier Guerrero on Tuesday said he believes his daughter is innocent and that she would not gain anything in plotting to kill her husband. —KBK, GMA News
