Brief fire prompts evacuation at Makati bank building

(Updated 3:24 p.m.) A fire hit the 35th floor of a bank tower in the central business district of Makati City Wednesday afternoon but was quickly put out.

 

Employees were evacuated from the Citibank Tower on Valero Street but were allowed back in after firefighters declared the fire out, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported.

 

The city government said the fire was placed under control as of 2:42 p.m.

 

It was put out as of 2:58 p.m.
