NBI presents mauling suspects Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz 

Businessman Cedric Lee and Simeon "Zimmer" Raz, suspects in the mauling of TV host-actor Vhong Navarro, were presented to the media on Monday, two days following their arrest in Eastern Samar province.

 

The two were clad in orange shirts and handcuffed when they faced the media. 

The two had been detained at the National Bureau of Investigation head office in Manila since Sunday. They were escorted to the Tacloban Airport by NBI agents and police officers the day after their arrest.

 

Lee and Raz were arrested by joint forces from the NBI, Philippine National Police and the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

 

Lee, however, insisted he was not arrested but "gave myself up voluntarily." He also said he was not hiding in Eastern Samar but was merely attending a business engagement there.

 

Lee, Raz, model Deniece Cornejo, and four others were charged with serious illegal detention, a non-bailable case, in connection with the January mauling of Navarro.
 

The warrants against the suspects are for serious illegal detention, a non-bailable case. The NBI had earlier failed to arrest Cedric Lee in San Juan, though its agents briefly brought in Lee's sister Bernice for questioning.
