NDRRMC: 10 families lose homes to Mandaluyong fire


At least 10 families lost their homes while some P2 million in property was destroyed after a fire hit a residential area in Mandaluyong City Saturday afternoon. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the fire started at 1:59 p.m. at Mabini Street corner Shaw Boulevard and reached the second alarm. "The incident involved more or less 10 residential units and affected 10 families," the NDRRMC said. It added the cause of the fire was still under investigation. Firefighters eventually put out the fire at 3:05 p.m. Meanwhile, a fire hit a residential area at Buenaventura Street in Barangay Tangos in Navotas City Saturday afternoon, radio dzBB reported. No one was initially reported hurt in the Navotas fire, which started at 1:25 p.m. and reached the fifth alarm before it was placed under control at 3:22 p.m. — LBG, GMA News
