Recto underpass now passable after floods

After several days of being impassable due to floods, the Recto underpass in Manila was finally reopened to vehicles Saturday. Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim posted photos on his Twitter account showing improved situation there. "Recto underpass both lanes are now passable," he said. The underpass was one of the major thoroughfares in Metro Manila that was rendered impassable due to the heavy rain that pounded parts of Luzon. While the weather began to improve last Thursday after the cyclone enhancing the southwest monsoon made landfall on China, the underpass was still flooded, with floodwater reaching seven to eight feet. Before the Recto underpass, the city government also announced the Lagusnilad was passable again. — LBG, GMA News
