1 hurt, more than 100 families lose homes in Pasay fire

At least one person was reported hurt while more than 100 families lost their homes in a fire that hit a residential area in Pasay City Wednesday afternoon.

 

Most of the families spent Wednesday night at a lot in Barangay 138 in Tramo, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported early Thursday.

 

Several of the affected residents had to sleep on cardboard, the report said.

 

On Wednesday evening, dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo reported more than 100 houses were razed in the Tramo area.

 

The fire at Barangay 156 started at 3 p.m. and was believed caused by a short circuit from an illegal electrical connection.

 

Firefighters had a hard time putting the blaze under control because of low water supply, even as a strong wind threatened to make the fire spread.

 

One resident lost consciousness while another suffered minor wounds while trying to save his belongings, even as traffic was snarled along Aurora Boulevard late Wednesday. –KG, GMA News
