QC judge orders Tulfo brothers to keep 500-meter distance from Raymart, Claudine

A Quezon City judge on Thursday ordered three brothers of columnist Ramon Tulfo to keep their distance from actor Raymart Santiago and his wife Claudine Barretto, weeks after they made threatening remarks to them on their TV show.

Quezon City Judge Bayani Vargas accommodated the request of Santiago and Barretto for a temporary protection order from Ben, Erwin and Raffy Tulfo, radio dzBB's Rowena Salvacion reported.

The report quoted the Santiago couple's lawyer Alex Avisado as saying the couple had sought a writ of amparo and a temporary protection order when they filed a complaint against the Tulfo brothers for grave threats last May 11.

Under the order, the three Tulfo brothers and their security aides cannot get within 500 meters of the Santiago couple.

Last May 6, Santiago had figured in a scuffle with the Tulfos' elder brother Ramon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

At the time, Tulfo was taking footage of Barretto scolding a ground crew of Cebu Pacific over the offloading of their baggage.

Santiago claimed Tulfo punched him when he approached him to ask why he was taking footage, while Tulfo claimed Santiago and some companions ganged up on him.

They have since taken their fight to court, lodging complaints against each other.

On the other hand, the three Tulfo brothers made allegedly threatening remarks against the couple on their TV show "T3," prompting a probe and a preventive suspension by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.

The MTRCB eventually lifted the suspension after TV5 promised the incident will not happen again. –KG, GMA News
