Tondo gang rape victim says suspects were high on solvent

Six suspects who allegedly raped a 20-year-old girl were supposedly high on solvent when they committed the crime, according to the victim's account to GMA News' 24 Oras.
The victim, who is hidden under the alias “Ana,” also said that five of them raped her, while one served as a lookout.

She added that while she wanted to scream for help, she was silenced by the knife that was held first to her side, then to her neck.

Umakbay na po 'yung isa sa 'kin tapos dun ko lang po nalaman na may tinutok sa tagiliran 'yung dalawa po. 'Wag daw po ako sisigaw, sasaksakin daw nila ako,” she recalled.

The victim’s father said that Ana was raped behind a jeep in a parking lot on Quezon Street, just beside the barangay hall in barangay 72, Moriones, Tondo.

Despite this, he said, no one noticed what was happening because the area was dark and the streetlights were dead.

Sa gabi, madilim dito, kaya kahit anong ano mo, kung di ka [titingin] di mo makikita,” the victim’s father said.

All six suspects have already been charged with rape. Three suspects are still being sought out by authorities, while three are already in police custody.

Iniharap na sila sa piskalya para gawan ng information at para makulong sa ating City Jail,” said Manila Police District Women’s Desk Chief Anita Araullo.

According to the police, they are positive that Ana was raped, based on medico-legal findings and the testimonies of the three suspects in custody.

The victim will undergo psychological evaluation for rape trauma.

Pagbayaran nila 'yung ginawa nila sa 'kin tapos sana mahuli 'yung tatlo,” she said. — ELR/KG, GMA News
