3 Japanese fugitives deported — BI
Three Japanese fugitives were deported back to their country for allegedly being undesirable aliens in the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced.
According to the BI, the foreigners — identified as Koyama Tomohir, Nagaura Hirok, and Miura Eisei — were repatriated to Tokyo on November 19, 2024.
They were deported for allegedly violating the conditions of their stay, as stipulated under Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, and on grounds of undesirability. All three also have standing arrest warrants issued by Japanese authorities for alleged criminal acts, as confirmed through official records of the Japanese government.
The deportees are now under the immigration blacklist and will be barred from entering the Philippines.
“This deportation was carried out in close coordination with the Japanese Embassy. Additionally, their names have been included in the BI's blacklist to prevent their return to the Philippines,” the BI said.
“The Bureau remains committed to ensuring that foreign nationals within the country adhere to Philippine laws and regulations, in line with its mandate to safeguard the nation’s security and interests,” it added. — Sundy Locus/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
