1,555 new COVID-19 cases recorded; active tally hits 38,315
The Philippines on Tuesday recorded 1,555 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the country’s total caseload to 3,941,656.
This came after five consecutive days of more than 2,000 COVID-19 infections recorded daily.
Based on the Department of Health (DOH)’s latest data, the active tally further increased to 38,315 from 37,082 on Monday.
Among the top regions with the most cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 13,839 new cases, followed by Calabarzon with 5,211, Central Luzon with 2,791, Davao Region with 1,313, and Western Visayas with 799.
The DOH said the country’s recovery tally also rose to 3,840,492, while the death toll also climbed to 62,849.
Meanwhile, the nationwide bed occupancy stood at 25.7% with 7,311 beds occupied while at least 21,132 were vacant as of Sunday, September 25.
The DOH said at least 14,264 individuals were tested, while 341 testing laboratories submitted data on Monday, September 26.—Richa Noriega/AOL, GMA News
