Reproduction number refers to the number of people infected by one case. A reproduction number that is below 1 indicates that the transmission of the virus is slowing down.
The healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) in NCR was at 31.7% as of July 24, he added.
HCUR refers to the occupancy of isolation, ward, and intensive care unit beds, as well as the utilization of mechanical ventilators. This is considered at critical risk if it is more than 85%.
David said Cagayan, Isabela, Cavite, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Aklan, Antique, and Capiz have positivity rates above 20%.
Capiz topped the list with 48.8% positivity rate followed by Isabela (31.7%), Aklan (31.1%), Tarlac (33.1%), Laguna (30.6%), Cavite (26.5%), Antique (25.2%), Nueva Ecija (23.4%), Pampanga (25.2%), and Cagayan (20.9%).
