Petro Gazz hands Cignal's first loss ahead of PVL holiday break

Petro Gazz dealt Cignal its first loss, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18, on Saturday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena to cap the league's 2024 preliminary round games before the holiday break.

Brooke Van Sickle led the Angels with 19 points, 13 from attacks and six from blocks, while Myla Pablo had 15 points as Petro Gazz improved to 5-1.

Ces Molina, meanwhile, had 10 points as the HD Spikers slipped to 4-1.

On the other hand, Chery Tiggo outlasted Galeries, 30-28, 20-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Cess Robles had 21 points, while Aby Maraño had 15 points for the Crossovers who improved to 4-2.

France Ronquillo had 18 points, while Jewel Encarnacion had 16 points as Galeries slipped to 1-5.

The PVL will return to action on January 18 with a triple header bannered by the match between Akari and PLDT. Prior to this, Farm Fresh and Nxled will face each other to open the 2025 games, followed by the game between Zus Coffee and Choco Mucho.
