Alyssa Valdez returns as Creamline sweeps Petro Gazz to open PVL title defense bid

In Alyssa Valdez' comeback, Creamline swept Petro Gazz to open its title defense bid, 25-19, 25-22, 25-16, on Saturday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Valdez missed PVL action for almost four months and in her return tallied four points. Meanwhile, Jema Galanza led the Cool Smashers with 13 points, while Bea de Leon had 10 points.

Brooke Van Sickle was the only double digit scorer for the Angels with 18 points as they slipped to 1-1.

Earlier, Cignal defeated Farm Fresh, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21 to improve to open its season on a high note.

Ces Molina had 14 points, while Jovelyn Fernandez had 11 points for the HD Spikers.

Trisha Tubu had 15 points for the Foxies who played without veteran Rachel Anne Daquis.
