Creamline outlasts Cignal for PVL Invitational Conference title, completes season grand slam

The Creamline Cool Smashers are once again champions in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

Creamline defeated Cignal in a five-set thriller, 21-25, 25-17, 20-25, 26-24, 15-13, to clinch the Invitational Conference crown and complete a season grand slam as they also won the All-Filipino Conference and Reinforced Conference.

With the win, Creamline bagged their 10th overall title and became the first PVL team to win three conferences in one season.

Erica Staunton had 29 points, 26 from attacks, while Bernadeth Pons led the locals with 27 points anchored on 24 attacks and two aces.

The win spoiled MJ Perez' 42-point outburst for Cignal as Jackie Acuña and Ces Molina had 10 points apiece.

Creamline finished the Invitationals' preliminary round with a four-game sweep while Cignal had a 3-1 card, with its only loss coming only from the Cool Smashers.

Kyle Negrito was named as Finals MVP.

Earlier, Kurashiki Ablaze bagged the bronze against the Est Cola.
