PVL: Bernadeth Pons named MVP after steering Creamline to Reinforced Conference throne


It's a double celebration for Bernadeth Pons as she copped the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) plum after leading Creamline to the title in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference on Wednesday at the PhilSports Arena.

The 27-year-old outside spiker emerged as the second-best local scorer through the quarterfinals, which determined the individual awards. The former FEU standout, who also became a figure in beach volleyball, had 147 points before the semis, collecting 136 attacks, six aces, and five blocks. 

Pons, who was also named as Finals MVP, also ranked second in receptions with an impressive 45.61 percent efficiency rate and sixth in digging with 3.06 digs per set.

Meanwhile, Cignal import MJ Perez of Venezuela claimed the Best Foreign Guest Player for helping the HD Spikers win their fifth bronze medal in the league. 

Spikers Brooke Van Sickle of Petro Gazz and Grethcel Soltones of Akari were named the Best Outside Spikers while Majoy Baron of PLDT and Des Clemente of Capital1 were hailed the Best Middle Blockers. 

Lefty power hitter Trisha Tubu of Farm Fresh claimed the Best Opposite Spiker as Gel Cayuna of Cignal and Alyssa Eroa of Galeries Tower were hailed the Best Setter and Best Libero, respectively.
