Maddie Madayag heading to Japan to join Kurobe Aqua Fairies

Maddie Madayag is bringing her talent overseas after the veteran Choco Mucho middle blocker agreed to join the Kurobe Aqua Fairies for the 2024-2025 season of Japan V.League, the club announced on Monday.

The 5-foot-11 towering ace thus ended her five-year stint with the Flying Titans, which saw a significant rise from being underdogs to a serious title contender in the PVL.

Madayag was signed by Kurobe alongside other foreign players in Rena Stigrot of Germany and Iris Scholten of Netherlands.

Choco Mucho, which was just coming off a tough campaign in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, wished Madayag good luck as she embarks on a new journey abroad.

"Join us in sending our captain, Maddie Madayag, all the best as she takes on Japan with the Kurobe Aqua Fairies," the team said.

"We're incredibly proud of you, Maddie, for seizing this amazing opportunity in your career. Your Choco Mucho Flying Titans fam is with you every step of the way. We can't wait to welcome you back stronger than ever!"
