PVL QF duels set as Creamline clinches no. 3, PLDT ousts Choco Mucho


The quarterfinal duels of the PVL Reinforced Conference are now set as the preliminary round closed on Thursday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Creamline sealed the no. 3 spot as it swept ZUS Coffee, 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.

Erica Staunton posted 17 points, while Bernadeth Pons led the locals as the Cool Smashers finished with a 6-2 record, while the Thunderbelles remained winless.

PLDT, on the other hand, ousted the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

Elena Samoilenko had 30 points, while Kiesha Bedonia had 16 points as PLDT ended the preliminary round also with a 6-2 card at the 4th spot. The Flying Titans, who played without import Zoi Faki due to flu, finished with two wins and six losses at no. 9.

Petro Gazz, meanwhile, finished at no. 6 after taking down Chery Tiggo, 25-20, 25-16, 25-12. Both teams have five wins and three losses, with the Crossovers taking the no. 5 spot.

The playoffs begin on Saturday with no. 2 Cignal taking on no. 7 Capital1, followed by top seed Akari going against no. 8 Farm Fresh. 

The other brackets will see PLDT against Chery Tiggo and Creamline vs Petro Gazz on Tuesday.
