Angel Canino to miss Alas Pilipinas duties; nationals head to Japan for training camp
As the Alas Pilipinas Women headed to Japan for their training camp, the nationals will be missing the services of De La Salle University's Angel Canino due to school commitments.
The Premier Volleyball League website reported the development on Thursday.
The national team landed in Japan on Wednesday to start its two-week training camp for the upcoming Southeast Asian Volleyball League (SEA V.League) next month.
In a photo posted by the national team's social media account, present in the camp were Jema Galanza, Sisi Rondina, Cherry Nunag, Faith Nisperos, Fifi Sharma, Eya Laure, Jen Nierva, Vanie Gandler, Dell Palomata, Thea Gagate, Julia Coronel, Bella Belen, Alyssa Solomon, and Arah Panique.
Tia Andaya and Hannah Stires from Central Washington University also joined in the camp.
The team copped the historic bronze medal in the AVC Challenge Cup last May, while it had an early exit in the FIVB Challenger Cup early this month.
