Jema Galanza proud in return for Alas Pilipinas duty

Jema Galanza has had multiple stints with the women's national volleyball team since 2018 and on Friday, she returned with Alas Pilipinas after missing the AVC Challenge Cup.

Galanza, despite coming off a minor injury, joined Alas in the FIVB Challenger Cup, but the Philippines fell to Vietnam in straight sets.

Still, Galanza said she is proud to play with the squad.

"Proud ako na naging part ako nito. Happy lang ako lagi kasi ito 'yung time na mag-improve and mag-grow as a player, and para meron pa kong matutunan sa kasama ko," said the Creamline star.

(I'm still proud that I am a part of this team. I am happy because this is a time to improve and grow as a player, and so I can learn from my teammates.)

For the Challenger Cup, Galanza was first listed as a libero, then eventually returned to being an outside hitter. But for Galanza, she will just give whatever the team needs from her.

"Dahil nga siyempre di natin ine-expect 'yung mga mangyayari sa loob ng team namin so doon tayo focus kung paano maso-solve 'yung problema. Ako naman, kung ano [ang] ibibigay sa akin ni Coach [De Brito], gagawin ko naman 'yung best ko, 'yung part ko para makatulong sa Pilipinas."

(Because we do not expect what will happen to the team, so we focus on how to solve the problem. For me, whatever Coach gives me, I will give my best, give my part to help the national team.)
