Akari taps American reinforcement Oly Okaro

Akari is set to parade American spiker Olouma "Oly" Okaro when the Chargers charge into the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference happening this month.

The 28-year-old Okaro previously suited up in Greece’s A1 Ethniki Women’s Volleyball Championship last season, bolstering the ASP Thetis Voulas as they finished with an 8-14 record in the elimination round before falling to Olympiacos in the semifinals. 

Okaro also made a name in the collegiate ranks, which saw her play for University of San Francisco for two years before jumping ship to Arizona State University. Back in 2017, she was named to the All-Pac-12 Team for indoor volleyball. 

At Akari, she will boost a hungry squad led by Ced Domingo, Mich Cobb, Faith Nisperos, Grethcel Soltones, Fifi Sharma, and Erika Raagas. 

The Chargers are looking to improve their 3-5 slate in the 2-2022 Reinforced Conference.
