Jia De Guzman named as Alas Pilipinas team captain for AVC Challenge Cup

Jia Morado-De Guzman has been named as the team captain of Alas Pilipinas national women's volleyball team for the AVC Challenge Cup for Women.

The development was announced by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation on Saturday.

De Guzman, a setter, will lead a young team from the Philippines with the likes of Sisi Rondina, Eya Laure, Dawn Macandili-Catindig, and collegiate standouts such as Angel Canino, Julia Coronel, and Thea Gagate.

Casiey Dongallo, who was called up, will miss the tournament due to injury.

The national team will commence its campaign on Thursday against Australia at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
