Bacolod Tay Tung rules Rebisco Volleyball League U19

Powerhouse Bacolod Tay Tung High School once again emerged as a champion as the Western Visayas representative reigned supreme in the Rebisco Volleyball League U19 National Finals last January 16.

Bacolod Tay Tung, the same school that ruled the Palarong Pambansa 2023 after stunning National Capital Region (NCR), made quick work of Naga College Foundation, 25-17, 25-23, 25-15, to continue its dominance in the secondary girl volleyball ranks.

University of San Jose-Recoletos, meanwhile, salvaged a third place finish after defeating Notre Dame Dadiangas University in their battle for third.

En route to the title, Bacolod Tay Tung also ruled the regional finals where it bested the likes of Central Philippines University, St. John's Institute, and Bacolod Trinity Christian School before sweeping the pool stage of the national finals, 4-0.

Bacolod Tay Tung then went on beating USJ-R in the semifinals to arrange a finals duel with Naga.

Participated by young girls aged 19 below from 460 schools across the country, the Rebisco tournament is aimed at promoting grassroots development programs in volleyball and amplify the level of the sport in the local scene.

Recently, a product of Bacolod Tay Tung in Patricia Hopinia committed to play for San Beda University in the NCAA.
