Choco Mucho picks up Alba-Mendrez-General trio
After the exit of several stars, Choco Mucho has started picking up the pieces ahead of its redemption bid in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) that opens next month.
The Flying Titans have signed the trio of setter Mars Alba, libero Bia General, and open hitter Mean Mendrez, the team announced on Monday. This comes after the departures of Denden Lazaro-Revilla, Caitlyn Viray, and Bea De Leon.
Alba, who was part of the defunct F2 Logistics, is set to join forces with main playmaker Deanna Wong as they look to build on the momentum from the previous 2nd All-Filipino Conference, where Choco Mucho had a breakthrough bridesmaid finish.
Mendrez, meanwhile, is poised to bolster the offense and provide a backup to main gunner Sisi Rondina as well as Isa Molde, Kat Tolentino, Maddie Madayad, and Des Cheng. The 5-foot-10 Mendrez had proven she could be a threat after having helped PLDT in the last two years.

General, who last saw action for Cignal, is also expected to fill in the void left by Lazaro-Revilla and link up with another defensive specialist in Thang Ponce.
