PVL: PLDT acquires Kim Dy to complete offseason haul
PLDT has completed its offseason recruitment spree by tapping the services of Kim Dy.
Dy will join former F2 Logistics teammates Kim Fajardo and Majoy Baron who were also recently signed by PLDT.
The High Speed Hitters announced the development on Sunday as they put their preparations for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League into higher gear ahead of the upcoming season's kick off in February.
Dy, who is regarded as one of the premier opposite hitters in the country, previously missed the 2nd All-Filipino Conference due to a knee injury she sustained during the Invitational Conference.
Despite the high expectations from her, the 28-year-old ace said she's ready to fulfill her role and at the same time learn new lessons from her new team.
"Stepping out of your comfort zone can be scary sometimes. But at the same time, that's when you realize that you can learn so much more from new coaches and teammates," Dy, who suited up for the Cargo Movers since 2016, said.
"Knowing that there’s still so much to learn inspires me to thrive and work harder. It's going to take a lot of hard work, but I hope we can meet the expectations set for us here in PLDT."
Aside from Baron and Fajardo, Dy will reunite with former La Salle teammate Mika Reyes and will join forces with Rhea Dimaculangan, Kath Arado, Dell Palomata, Erika Santos, and Fiola Ceballos.
