Morente, Mendrez announce departure from PLDT
As they bid 2023 goodbye, Michelle Morente and Mean Mendrez were among those who announced their exit from the PLDT High Speed Hitters with only months away from the new season of the Premier Volleyball League in February.
Morente and Mendrez were integral parts of the High Speed Hitters' campaign for the past few conferences, turning the club into a legit title contender alongside other stars in Mika Reyes, Rhea Dimaculangan, Dell Palomata, and Kath Arado.
Morente, who joined the team early this year, expressed her gratitude to PLDT.
"Grateful for all the opportunities and chances na binigay niyo sakin para maipakita ko ulit yung talent ko sa lahat. Salamat sa tiwala, PLDT," Morente said in an Instagram post on Thursday.
[Grateful for all the opportunities and chances that you gave me to show my talent to everyone. Thank you for the trust, PLDT.]
Mendrez, meanwhile, relished the journey she had with the High Speed Hitters where she emerged as one of the reliable open hitters in the league. The former UE standout joined PLDT in January 2022 after ending her stint with Petro Gazz.
"To my amazing PLDT family, I’m deeply grateful for the countless opportunities and the incredible journey we’ve shared. Working with all of you has been a wonderful experience," she said.
Setter Anj Legacion also took to social media to express gratitude for her time spent with PLDT.
"I'm Forever Grateful for the knowledge, memories and opportunities that we've shared my PLDT FAM... Thank you very much and See you soon again" she posted.
