Japanese coach Taka Minowa is set to take on a much bigger role come 2024 as he has been promoted to director of volleyball operations for Akari and Nxled in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

Minowa, who previously led Nxled in the recent 2nd All-Filipino Conference, will now lead the operations for both Chameleons and Chargers in their bid to improve their respective campaigns next season that is slated to kick off in February.

"After an outstanding coaching debut in the Premier Volleyball League, Nxled Chameleons' head coach Taka Minowa will now assume the role of Director of Volleyball Operations for both his squad and the Akari Chargers," the organization announced.

Despite the new role, Minowa, the husband of Filipina volleyball star Jaja Santiago, will remain as the head coach for Nxled.

The Chameleons finished ninth in the team standings in the recent 2nd All-Filipino conference after collecting four wins against seven losses in their debut.

Akari, meanwhile, will soon announce its interim tactician following the departure of Brazilian tactician Jorge Souza de Brito, who left his post after the Chargers' seventh place finish last conference.

"Moreover, an interim Chargers head coach will be announced soon, along with some new assistant coaches for Nxled and Akari," added Akari.
