PVL: Cignal downs Chery Tiggo, inches closer to bronze finish

The Cignal HD Spikers moved closer to a bronze medal finish after taking down the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-19, 21-25, 25-15, 25-20, on Thursday in Game 1 of the 2023 PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference battle for third at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Vanie Gandler paced Cignal with 21 points, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and Ces Molina had 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Pauline Gaston had 14 points for Chery Tiggo, while Mylene Paat and Eya Laure had 13 points apiece.

Game 2 of the best-of-three series will be played on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
