Benilde wins V-League women's title; Perpetual's Dapol is MVP
The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde women's volleyball team are champions once again as they claimed the V-League title on Friday at the Paco Arena.
The Lady Blazers, who are the reigning back-to-back NCAA champs, swept Far Eastern University in Game 2 of the finals, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.
Gayle Pascual finished with seven points on six attacks and a block to take home the Finals MVP award, while Cloanne Mondoñedo had 15 excellent sets and two blocks.
Pascual was also named Best Opposite Spiker of the tournament, while her teammates Jade Gentapa and Zam Nolasco was named Best Outside Spiker and Best Middle Blocker respectively.
FEU's Christine Ubaldo was recognized as Best Setter, while her fellow Lady Tamaraw Kiesha Bedonia was also named Best Outside Spiker. Riza Nogales of University of the East was awarded the Best Middle Blocker plum while University of Perpetual Help System DALTA's Marian Andal was Best Libero.
NCAA Season 98 MVP Mary Rhose Dapol was once again recognized as MVP in this tournament.
In the men's division, De La Salle University won the title against University of Santo Tomas, 25-22, 27-29, 29-27, 25-18.
