PVL welcomes new team Nxled ahead of third conference

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) hiked the number of its teams to 12 as it opened its door to Nxled, the second team of Akari Lighting & Technology Corporation in the league.

The Chameleons will start competing in the third and final conference later this year.

"Of course, the obvious reason that we are forming Nxled is because we want to market the brand," said Akari Sports Director Russell Balbacal in a story published on the league's website on Thursday.

"The PVL has proven to be a strong platform for brands to promote their products."

The team has yet to reveal its roster and coaching staff, but Nxled vowed to have a competitive lineup against the best teams in the PVL such as Creamline, Cignal, PLDT, and F2 Logistics.

"We are envisioning the Nxled Chameleons to be a team that will easily adjust to any opponent they face in the PVL," added Balbacal.

"We are committed to forming a very competitive team in this new endeavor of ours because this is not just a one-shot deal. We are guaranteeing to the PVL and fans alike that this team will be in the league for the long term."
