Philippines falls to Thailand in straight sets for second loss in SEA VLeague

The Philippine national women's volleyball team fell to Thailand, 25-19, 25-7, 25-17, on Saturday in their second match in the first leg of the 2023 SEA VLeague women's tournament in Vietnam.

After being limited to just seven points in the second set, the Philippine team was neck-and-neck against the Thais as the two squads were eventually tied to 16.

The Thais made a 5-0 run to widen their margin, 21-16, before the Filipinas broke the scoring drought to salvage the match. However, the powerhouse squad again made a run to eventually claim their second win in the leg.

Thailand improved to 2-0 while the Philippines slid to 0-2, with their first loss coming against Vietnam on Friday.

The Philippines will take on Indonesia on Sunday to wrap its first leg campaign.
