Creamline survives five-setter against Cignal; PLDT sweeps F2 in PVL Invitational semis

The Creamline Cool Smashers survived another five-setter, this time against the Cignal HD Spikers, 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 24-26, 15-10, on Saturday in the semifinals of the PVL Invitational Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The win came just days after Creamline weathered a tough five-setter against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

Tots Carlos posted 27 points while Alyssa Valdez showed another vintage performance with 22 points. Jema Galanza also chipped in 21 points as Creamline improved to 3-0 in the semis.

Ces Molina's 28-point effort for Cignal fell short as the HD Spikers dropped to 1-2.

Earlier, the PLDT High Speed Hitters swept the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.

Former NCAA Most Valuable Player Honey Rose Tubino registered 20 points as PLDT tied F2 in the standings with 1-2.

In the classification round, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans defeated the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in straight sets, 25-20, 26-24, 25-15, to finish seventh overall in the tournament.
