Jerry Yee named new UE Lady Warriors head coach
Multi-titled tactician Jerry Yee has been tapped as the new head coach of the University of the East Lady Warriors for the upcoming UAAP Season 86, the school announced on Wednesday.
The development came just weeks after Yee parted ways with Adamson University, which he steered to a Final Four appearance in the previous season.
"I am incredibly grateful to the UE community for welcoming our group with open arms. I am also thrilled about the opportunity to work with this exceptional group of coaches. UE is widely recognized for having one of the best basketball and volleyball programs in the Philippines," said team manager Jared Lao in a statement.
"With that being said, our aim is to restore the glory days of the Red Warriors. We are excited to contribute to the development of young basketball and volleyball players, helping them gradually achieve their dreams."
Aside from leading the Lady Falcons, Yee also had a previous coaching stint with the University of the Philippines. Currently, he serves as head coach of the reigning two-time champion De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in the NCAA.
Meanwhile, UE also named Karl Santos as Junior Warriors head coach, replacing Ronnie Dojillo at the helm.
