Marck Espejo selected 3rd overall in Korean V-League Asian Quota Draft

Marck Espejo has been drafted third overall in the 2023 Korean V-League Asian Quota Draft, making him the second Filipino to complete the feat.

The 26-year-old outside hitter was selected by the three-time defending champions Incheon Korean Air Jumbos during the draft in Korea on Thursday.

Espejo will join MJ Phillips in the league after the Filipina middle blocker was selected fifth overall by the Gwangju AI Peppers last week.

This is Espejo's fifth club abroad as he previously suited up as import for Weisse Adler in Japan in 2018, Visakha in Thailand in 2019, Bani Jamra in Bahrain in 2020, and again in Japan in 2020 for FC Tokyo.

Enkh-Erdene Jargaltsogt clinched the top pick for Daejeon Samsung Bluefangs while Ryohei Iga was picked second by Suwon KEPCO Vixtorm.

Other Filipinos who joined the draft were Jau Umandal, Manuel Sumanguid, and JP Bugaoan. They all went undrafted as only seven applicants were selected.
