Adamson, NU secure Final Four slots in UAAP women's volleyball
Adamson University and National University both secured their respective Final Four slots in UAAP Season 85 on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Adamson took down University of the Philippines, 25-20, 27-25, 23-25, 25-15, to improve their record to 9-4 and clinch a semis spot for the first time in nine years. Lucille Almonte had 13 points on top of 20 excellent digs and 10 excellent sets, while Trisha Tubu and Lorene Toring had 11 points apiece. UP, meanwhile, went down to 1-11.
The defending champion Lady Bulldogs, meanwhile, punched their Final Four ticket after sweeping the winless University of the East, 25-5, 25-15, 25-13. Michaela Belen had 21 points in NU's ninth win in 12 games of the season.
UAAP action will return on Sunday as University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University battle in a match with playoff repercussions, while De La Salle University will take on Ateneo de Manila University at 3 p.m.
