Philippine men's national volleyball pool, sans Espejo, Bagunas, to hold Taiwan training camp


The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) released on Sunday the members of the national team pool which started its training camp this morning at the University of Santo Tomas.

Included in the team are 2019 Southeast Asian Games silver medalists Jao Umandal and Rex Intal, while Mark Alfafara has been named as a trainer. Lloyd Josafat, who was part of the 2021 team, was also named in the pool.

Other pool members include Lloyd Josafat, Rwenzmel Taguibolos, Leo Ordiales, Vince Lorenzo, Jay Rack Dela Noche, Madzlan Gampong, Kim Dayandante, Jelex Mendiola, Vince Mangulabnan, and Edward Camposano. The team will be held by Odjie Mamon.

Notable players missing from the lineup are Marck Espejo and Bryan Bagunas. It has been reported that Bagunas will miss the upcoming SEA Games in Cambodia due to his wedding.

The pool will have a 10-day training camp in Chinese Taipei starting February 15 where they will go against four professional teams in tune-up matches.

The names for the pool were released months before the Cambodia games set in May.
