Champion coach Dante Alinsunurin to take over coaching reins for Choco Mucho

Dante Alinsunurin is opening a new chapter in his coaching career.

Alinsunurin, a champion tactician in the men's division, has been tapped to take over the coaching duties for Choco Mucho in the upcoming new season of the Premier Volleyball League, the team announced on Friday.

"The Choco Mucho Flying Titans' organization is pleased to announce the appointment of Dante Alinsunurin Jr. as the team's new head coach. With coach Dante's experience, commitment and program, we truly believe he will lead our Titans to reach their highest potential as he has done for the other teams he has coached," the team said.

"Maraming salamat coach Dante for taking on the challenge!"

Alinsunurin is a multi-titled men's team coach. He led the national men's team to a dramatic silver medal finish during the 2019 Southeast Asian Games here while also steering the National University to four UAAP titles and a couple of podium feats in the ASEAN University Games.

He was also a champion coach in the 2022 Spiker's Turf Open and Collegiate Conference.

The decorated mentor will take over the Choco Mucho club that made it to the semifinals twice in the 2021 PVL Open Conference and in the 2022 Open Conference, but missed out on a playoff appearance on both the Invitational and Reinforced tourneys last year.

Alinsunurin replaced Oliver Almadro, who stepped down from his post in November 2022 to focus on his duties as the Ateneo de Manila University women's volleyball team.
