Prisilla Rivera sets PVL scoring record to tow Akari past Choco Mucho; Cignal sweeps Army


Three-time Olympian Prisilla Rivera set a new record in the Premier Volleyball League after dropping 44 points in the Akari Chargers' five-set win against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Thursday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Akari defeated the Flying Titans, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 15-12, with Rivera's scoring anchored on 39 attacks. The win improved the Chargers' records to 2-4 while the Flying Titans dropped to 2-3.

Earlier, Cignal swept United Auctioneers-Army,  25-23, 25-19, 25-19, to notch their second win in four games. Army remained winless in five games.

PVL action will be back on Saturday in Santa Rosa, Laguna, where Petro Gazz will face PLDT while Chery Tiggo will go up against the Creamline Cool Smashers.
