The National University Lady Bulldogs are the new queens of UAAP volleyball.
On Tuesday, the Sampaloc-based squad claimed the Season 84 women's volleyball title after taking down De La Salle University, 25-15, 25-15, 25-22 in Game 2 of the best-of-three Finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Alyssa Solomon tallied 18 points for NU off 15 attacks and three blocks, while season MVP Mhicaela Belen had 13 attacks and three blocks.
Thea Gagate, who led La Salle in scoring in the deciding game, was limited to eight points.
The win also capped NU's perfect season after going 16-0 from the elimination round to the finals.
Cess Robles was named as Finals MVP. In Game 2, Robles had six points and 15 excellent digs.
This NU squad also made history as it broke a 65-year title drought. They last clinched the women's volleyball title in 1957.
