Creamline advances to finals, Petro Gazz forces rubber match vs Cignal
Creamline marched to the 2022 PVL Open Conference Finals after sweeping sister team Choco Mucho capped by a 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 Game 2 semifinals victory on Sunday at the jam-packed Mall of Asia Arena.
Tots Carlos once again starred for the Cool Smashers, dropping 23 points on 19 attacks, three service aces, and one block as Creamline advanced to the final round for third straight year.
The Alyssa Valdez-Jema Galanza duo also proved instrumental for Creamline with team captain Valdez pouring in 17 points while Galanza was effective on both ends, listing 18 markers and 15 digs.
Creamline was also dominant in Game 1, drawing a 25-18, 17-25, 25-19, 25-11 triumph to move on cusp of the championship round and a chance to redeem itself after a bridesmaid finish last year.
Creamline will now await the winner of the semifinal series between Cignal and Petro Gazz.
The Angels survived an extended game against the HD Spikers, coming out with a 25-22, 21-25, 22-25, 26-24, 18-16 victory.
