Cignal and Creamline took care of their respective foes in the semifinals as they moved a win away from meeting in the championship stage of the 2022 PVL Open Conference on Friday at the FilOil Flying V Area in San Juan.

The HD Spikers outworked Petro Gazz in straight sets, 25-21, 25-23, 25-23, with middle blocker Riri Meneses and several veterans showing the way.

The 6-foot-1 Meneses tallied 14 points built on 11 attacks and three blocks while team captain and seasoned open spiker Rachel Anne Daquis contributed 11 markers as they went  1-0 in their best-of-three semifinal affair.

Ces Molina and Roselyn Doria were also pivotal in the sweep after they each notched 10 points while opposite hitter Angeli Araneta chipped in nine.

Meanwhile, Creamline showed no mercy after it edged sister team Choco Mucho in four sets, 25-18, 17-25, 25-19, 25-11 for a near return to the finals stage.
