Creamline dethrones Chery, joins Cignal in PVL semis

The Creamline Cool Smashers ousted the Chery Tiggo Crossovers to book a slot in the Premier Volleyball League semifinals.

The Cool Smashers took down the defending champs, 25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, in the PVL Open Conference quarters held at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan on Monday.

Tots Carlos tallied 17 points on 16 attacks, while Jema Galanza added 14 attacks. Jia de Guzman, meanwhile, registered 26 excellent sets. Mylene Paat listed 11 points in the losing affair.

Earlier, the Cignal HD Spikers also earned their slot in the Final Four as they swept BaliPure Water Defenders, 25-14, 25-9, 25-14.

Ces Molina had 12 points, while Roselyn Doria had eight attacks and two aces. Janine Marciano had five points in the BaliPure loss.

On Tuesday, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans will face the PLDT High Speed Hitters in the quarterfinals match, while the Petro Gazz Angels will go against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers. Both Choco Mucho and Petro Gazz have twice-to-beat incentives.

Chery Tiggo and BaliPure will be relegated to the classification round.
