Cignal beefs up roster, signs Meneses, Molina, three others ahead of PVL tilt

The Cignal HD Spikers continued to pile up with talents as the squad welcomed five new faces ahead of the upcoming 2022 season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

In a series of Facebook posts, Cignal welcomed to its fold veteran outside spikers Ces Molina and Jerrili Malabanan as well as decorated middle blocker Ria Meneses, all of whom were recently released by their former club Petro Gazz.

Aside from the three, the HD Spikers also reached deals with Marist Layug and Glaudine Troncoso.

The 5-foot-10 Layug last played for PLDT in the previous PVL Open Conference while Troncoso was part of Sta. Lucia team that finished fifth in the league's inaugural professional season last year.

The five players will join seasoned spiker Rachel Anne Daquis, Jheck Dionela, and Fiola Ceballos as Cignal will try to eclipse its 10th place finish last season.

Cignal started its roster shuffle as early as September 2021 when it got the services of Graze Bombita, which was followed by the signings of Angeli Araneta, Gel Cayuna, and Bia General. — LA, GMA News
