Petro Gazz parts ways with Kath Arado, Ces Molina, 7 other core players

The Petro Gazz Angels are welcoming the new year with a roster facelift as they parted ways with nine core players ahead of the new season of the 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

Angels team manager Camille Cruz confirmed that the squad has released libero Kath Arado, setters Alina Bicar and Ivy Perez as well as spikers Ces Molina, Ria Meneses, Jessey de Leon, Mean Mendrez, Jerrili Malabanan, and Rica Enclona.

"Yes, correct [we've released these players]. We've started our new line up for this year," Cruz told GMA News Online in a message.

The club first made the announcement in its social media accounts on Wednesday, thanking the angels "for our journey shared this 2021!"

"Through all the ups and downs, twists and turns, it has been one interesting ride. We, your Petro Gazz Angels family, would like to thank you all for our journey shared this 2021," the team said in a Facebook post.

Petro Gazz finished with a bronze medal in the inaugural season of PVL as a professional fixture last year after it swept Choco Mucho in their battle for third place.

With the exit of these players, only five players are left in the current roster of Petro Gazz with top spikers Grethcel Soltones and Myla Pablo leading the pack. Also staying put are veteran setter Chie Saet and middle blockers Rem Palma and Seth Rodriguez. — LA, GMA News
